I wonder if people don’t like Jira because it has too many features? It’s a great product that has it become complex, is it time to get something simpler? Lots of software packages experience this, as features are added there is more configuration to adjust, The software becomes it’s own entity. Sure the configuration is great but it’s more likely to be misconfigured and brittle than tweaked as if it were a high performance engine.
Getting this balance right is hard at a large company that sells to other large companies, it allows cracks for small companies to enter the market just a Figma is doing to Adobe.
